Xª Villa de Peguera 2023
The Alevín Villa de Peguera Solidarity Tournament is set to celebrate its tenth edition this year on September 16th and 17th. The tournament will be held at the Peguera Municipal Soccer Field.
This 8-a-side football tournament focuses on the juvenile category and has gained recognition as one of the most significant grassroots football competitions in the Balearic Islands. The event encompasses three key elements:
- Notable participation: Each edition attracts prominent national and international youth teams.
- Solidarity: The tournament serves as a platform to support charitable causes related to children and the environment.
- Meticulous organization: The event is carefully planned, paying attention to every detail. It aims to transmit the values synonymous with sports, such as effort, solidarity, and dedication.
The tournament takes place in the stunning area of Peguera, Mallorca, which offers a picturesque coastal landscape with beautiful beaches, coves, and mountains. The region also provides a wide range of services, leisure activities, cultural attractions, and gastronomic delights, making it an ideal destination for both competition and vacation enjoyment.
Regarding the sports aspect, the tournament will maintain the same format as previous years. Sixteen teams will compete in the qualifying phase, divided into four groups of four teams playing a single round. The second phase will be elimination-based, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Champions Tournament finals, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete in the UEFA Tournament. The cross-matches will be determined based on the teams’ performance in the initial phase.
All final matches will follow a cup system (direct elimination), and in case of a tie, there will be no extra time but instead a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
